I get it.

Sometimes we as writers and creatives can get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of life that we feel uninspired. We hit a creative wall and wonder when we will get our mojo back. Well, I'm here to tell you that if Stella could get her groove back, there is hope for you and me, friend. All we have to do is be present to what is going on around us.

In this five day challenge (February 1-5), we will use photos to inspire our writing. Your task is to take a photo each day of something in your surroundings and post it to Instagram along with your written response (full or excerpt). Your photo may remind you of a childhood memory or even prompt you to write a short story. Don't confine yourself to any specific type of genre. Simply allow yourself to be present and look at your surroundings with fresh eyes.

There may be days where your photo inspirations are too personal to share. That's okay! Just write your response in your journal and get the release you need, friend. When you do post your pictures and responses, don't forget to use our hashtag #presentandinspired and tag me in your responses (@mrsjpgilbert). I can't wait to see your creativity flow!

As writers and creatives, we must learn to be present and inspired by our surroundings.
